WWE quietly made a big change to Cody Rhodes' World Championship presentation.

Cody Rhodes is the Undisputed WWE Champion no more.

As pointed out by Fightful's Sean Ross Sapp, WWE has removed the "Undisputed" from Cody's title's name, meaning 'The American Nightmare' is now just the WWE Champion. See for yourself on WWE.com's roster page.

The change must have come within the last few days, as Cody was officially announced as the "Undisputed WWE Champion" after defeating John Cena to regain the belt at SummerSlam 2025. The 40-year-old is now a two-time (Undisputed) WWE Champion, having previously reigned from 2024's WrestleMania XL to WrestleMania 41's second night (20 April 2025), where he lost to Cena

Cena made two successful title defences in his 105-day run, besting Randy Orton at Backlash 2025 and CM Punk at Night of Champions. The title win was the 17th of the Hollywood star's wrestling career, moving him clear of Ric Flair (in WWE canon) to move into top spot on the all-time winners' list.

WWE's top two titles - the WWE Championship and Universal Championship - were considered an "Undisputed" title when Roman Reigns' dual-belt run commenced in April 2022. However, both straps retained their unique names. In June 2023, when Reigns' run reached 1,000 days, he was presented with a new Undisputed WWE Universal Championship, featuring a nameplate that read "Undisputed Champion."

Since April 2024, Rhodes had been regarded as the Undisputed WWE Championship, despite the continued existence of the World Heavyweight Championship. Now, the "Undisputed" part appears to be no more. Cody Rhodes is the WWE Champion, and Seth Rollins is the World Heavyweight Champion.
