Cody Rhodes Targeting THIS WWE Event For His Return?
Long-term WWE injury absentee Cody Rhodes might've just revealed some grand plans.
Cody Rhodes might just be targeting the 2022 Royal Rumble as his big comeback moment.
The injured WWE star, who suffered a nasty pec tear in early-June yet somehow wrestled a full Hell In A Cell match vs. Seth Rollins, is currently rehabbing his injuries. Rhodes teased fans attending the Mattel & WWE Elite Squad Fan Panel during the recent San Diego Comic Con with Rumble-related news.
After asking fans when they'd like to see him return, Cody slyly smiled when someone bellowed out a quick, "Royal Rumble!". Refusing to give anything away, but still kinda giving the game away with his smile, Rhodes replied: "You never know. We'll see!".
The Rumble it is then.
That's guesswork, of course. However, Rhodes' grin was telling, and that 30-man match in January 2023 would be the ideal time to launch back onto WWE screens. If it's going to happen, then Cody only has approx four more months to heal up from the most brutal-looking of injuries.
WWE absolutely won't let Rhodes return before he's 100%. It was actually remarkable that they stuck a green light on his HIAC heroics in the first place.
