Dave Meltzer Gives John Cena vs. R-Truth AWFUL Score | WWE Saturday Night's Main Event Star Ratings
SNME stinker John Cena vs. R-Truth lands low star rating in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter.
John Cena has landed one of the lowest scores of his career in Dave Meltzer's latest round of WWE star ratings.
As published in the 2 June edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Cena's non-title match with R-Truth at Saturday Night's Main Event (24 May) landed a *1/4 rating, falling below the generally accepted "bad" threshold of **.
If Cagematch is accurate, this would be the joint second-lowest score of Cena's career, outdone only by his SummerSlam 20024 match with Booker T. Cena vs. JBL at WrestleMania 21 and Cena and Batista vs. Finlay and Booker T at Armageddon 2006 share the **1/4 score.
This was Cena's third match to land a star rating in 2025, with his WrestleMania 41 clash with Cody Rhodes earning *3/4, and Backlash bout with Randy Orton ***1/4.
Damian Priest vs. Drew McIntyre landed the highest SNME rating with ***3/4 for their cage match, which closed on Priest walking out of the cage after knocking McIntyre out, raising the ire of commentator Jesse Ventura.
Meanwhile, Meltzer declined to award a score to Zelina Vega and Chelsea Green for their Women's United States Title match, which ran for a little over five minutes.
Meltzer's full star ratings for WWE Saturday Night's Main Event (24 May) were as follows:
Bron Breakker & Seth Rollins vs. CM Punk & Sami Zayn: ***½
WWE Women's United States Title Match - Zelina Vega (c) vs. Chelsea Green: N/R
John Cena vs. R-Truth: *1/4
Steel Cage Match - Damian Priest vs. Drew McIntyre: ***3/4
WWE World Heavyweight Title Match - Jey Uso (c) vs. Logan Paul: ***1/4
