Okay, throughout this article, I've tried to go to bat for Meltzer. After all, the fact that so often, his ratings are controversial says something very strange and/or ridiculous about the wrestling fandom. For this one, though? Gloves are off, pal.

4.25 stars for Roman Reigns vs. John Cena at No Mercy 2017. That, in Dave's mind, is a score given to a very good-to-great match. For comparison's sake, let's see what other matches from 2017 Dave (apparently) thinks this match was on the level of. We've got Johnny Gargano vs. Andrade "Cien" Almas from TakeOver: Brooklyn III, Rollins/Ambrose vs. The Bar from the very same night as Reigns-Cena, and the tag team ladder match from TakeOver: Chicago.

With all due respect, Uncle Dave: what match were you watching? Because pretty much everyone I know thought Reigns vs. Cena was a depressing slog with no drama, no attempt at making Cena look like an equal of Reigns, and was just another sad attempt at getting people to like The Big Dog by doing all the things people hate about his push.

4.25 stars, everyone! Oh, and if you wanna get extra mad, that means he thought it was slightly better than The New Day vs. The Usos at Hell in a Cell (4 stars).
