When The Shield were at their peak, it was obvious that Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose had the star potential, but many worried about Seth Rollins not breaking out in a similar way. No-one could have predicted that it wouldnt be long until Rollins was the best heel in the company, with an act so hateable its easy to forget its all pre-determined. A key to making Rollins a great heel was the addition of the Money in the Bank briefcase, because it gives him something to lord over people, but it also gives him a prop that the babyfaces can mess with, which Dean Ambrose took great delight in. First he poured popcorn and soda into the case which distracted Rollins enough to lose to Heath Slater, but the best was yet to come. Ambrose swiped the briefcase from Rollins on an episode of SmackDown and carried it around both in public and at house shows. Seth Rollins would confront Dean Ambrose with a cadre of security guards, and Ambrose acquiesced heading back through the crowd to let Mr. Money In The Bank reclaim his briefcase. Seth Rollins opened the case and was immediately splattered with green goo while Ambrose chuckled in the audience behind him. Its a testament to Dean Ambrose as a character that he can mix sophomoric pranks with high intensity violence and both aspects are as believable as each other.
