How To Debut The Next Rising Stars From NXT

Paige

Aj Lee Paige When asking wrestling fans online who is the one individual who is in development as we speak who should be on the main roster, a good majority would pick "The Anti-Diva", Paige. Coming from the legendary Knight wrestling family, there was only one reason for the longest time that she had not debuted: that she was not 21 yet. In recent years, the WWE has focused on not having performers under 21 from traveling so much for several reasons. When Paige turned 21 last August, every fan was anticipated the debut of this women's wrestler. Almost in March, it still hasn't happened. Currently holding the NXT Diva's Title, Paige has been ready for the main roster for a while now. However, she has been forced out of action recently due to injury, which most likely slowed down her debut timing. This can all change, though, after her match at "NXT Arrival". There she defends her title against former ally Emma, who has just recently debuted...if you can count what she has done as debuting. With a loss, she has the potential to leave NXT right away for higher pastures. Although easily the best women's wrestler in NXT and maybe the whole WWE, she does have a tricky situation with her debut. Look at the most recent Diva debuts. They have all centered around their image. Jojo and Eva Marie debuted with the Total Divas reality show as they were models who transitioned to wrestling. You have Summer Rae who debuted as a dancer. Even looking at the most recent Emma, she debuted as a dancing fan with goofball Santino Marella. None of these debuts have centered around wrestler. Paige needs a debut that does just that. However, because of that, she will be debuting as a heel. With her Anti-Diva formula, there is no way she would debut to the main roster as a face. The most likely avenue for he would be debuting to the assistance of A.J. after Tamina leaves her or if she needs additional assistance. They could, however, go full force like they did a while back with the debuting Gail Kim in 2003 and have her win the title in her debut, but that's just wishful thinking. More than likely, you will see her sooner rather than later. Let's just hope they have the right gimmick for her first. Predicted Time of Debut: June, 2014
