DIRTY BASTARDS That Made Wrestling GROSS! ?

4. Hangman Page & Swerve Strickland

Tied here because it took one guy to drink blood and the other to pour blood in someone's mouth, Hangman Page and Swerve Strickland's grim 2023 finale at Full Gear was a Texas Deathmatch that couldn't have worked any harder (or grosser) for the plaudits it earned.

The programme had been a controversial one thanks to a home invasion storyline that didn't feel like it belonged (or was responded to by Page all that emphatically), but the match took place as if that vignette had occurred out of nowhere on the go home show. Page let the red mist descend before he blew it up into the air like a Triple H water-spit, and everything that followed took place in an environment that had been completely reset by some disgusting new boundaries.

There was no gimmick attachment, no magician's secret, no disguised capsule. And the world had enough chances to check - it was the sort of spot that commanded a rewatch, if you could even stomach it.
