Eric Bischoff BLASTS Bret Hart - Questions His WWE Title Reigns
Eric Bischoff really doesn't think Bret Hart was a success as WWE Champion.
Eric Bischoff agrees that Bret Hart was one hell of a professional wrestler. However, the one-time WCW boss would also consider Bret to be one of the "least successful World Heavyweight Champions in WWE history".
That'll ruffle some feathers up in Canada, no doubt.
Bisch recalled how miserable Hart was when he signed for WCW on his '83 Weeks' podcast. He remembers how Bret "wanted to kill" Vince McMahon, and how he "hated" the likes of Shawn Michaels, Ric Flair and more; later, Eric found out that Hart wasn't fond of countless others either.
That negativity did nothing for Bischoff, but he always thought Bret was such a great in-ring performer that he'd be able to contribute to the company regardless.
Eric added that Hart's "drawing power in WWE was well documented". In other words, Bret didn't do the same levels of business that someone like Hulk Hogan had done before him. To Bischoff, that says it all, and it's why he'd count Hart as one of the "least successful" champs Vince McMahon has ever booked on top.
He wouldn't have paid to see the 'Hitman' do his thing in the mid-90s then.
