25. WrestleDream 2023

WD Bryan Danielson Zack Sabre Jr
AEW

The first WrestleDream PPV in 2023 saw the TNT Championship take the spotlight, with Christain Cage headlining the event in a 2-Out-Of-3 Falls Match with Darby Allin. With the score locked at 1-1, Nick Wayne turned heel to join Christian Cage and cost Allin the match, before Adam Copeland arrived on the scene. Cope seemed as though he might join Christian's burgeoning Patriarchy, before turning on his former tag partner to side with Darby and Sting.

The night was ruled by the first match between Zack Sabre Jr and Bryan Danielson in 14 years, and the first-ever match in the now-legendary feud between Swerve Strickland and 'Hangman' Adam Page. Sabre Jr and Danielson lived up to their reputations with a technical masterclass for the ages. Danielson got the win after a Regal Plex and two flying knees. Swerve Strickland then struck first blood against Hangman, as two House Calls helped him score the victory.

The AEW World Championship was not defended, as champion MJF instead beat The Righteous in a 2-on-1 Handicap Match to retain Better Than You BayBay's Ring of Honor tag team titles. There was more great tag team action as The Young Bucks won a Fatal Four-Way match to become number one contenders for the AEW tag belts, with current champions FTR seeing off a challenge from Kyle Fletcher and Mark Davis's Aussie Open.
