Every AEW Pay-Per-View Ranked - From Worst To Best
42. Revolution 2021
Revolution 2021 ended with AEW being a punchline around the world, thanks to the misfiring end to Jon Moxley and Kenny Omega's Exploding Barbed Wire Death Match. It's a crying shame that the explosion felt more like faulty sparklers at the local fireworks night, as the feud between Moxley and Omega was one of the best in company history, and the match itself had been a tense and violent affair up to its catastrophic end.
The pair wasn't helped by a card that lacked quality either. The Young Bucks defeated the team of Chris Jericho and MJF to retain the AEW Tag Team titles, while Miro and Kip Sabian vs Best Friends and Hikaru Shida vs Ryo Hizunami did not feel worthy of being on a PPV card.
Sting and Darby Allin vs Powerhouse Hobbs and Ricky Starks fared much better in their cinematic Street Fight match, as they threw hands in a dark, abandoned warehouse, and the signing of Christian Cage was a welcome addition to the show. Unfortunately, this was accompanied by the silliness of 'Hangman' Adam Page and Matt Hardy battling to win their opponents' pay for the first quarter of the year, which kinda showed why this was a PPV to forget.
