Every Current Champion In WWE (And Who Should Beat Them)

Champion: Dominik Mysterio

Who Should Beat Him: Chad Gable

Confession time: This entry went back and forth on giving the belt to NXT's Oba Femi as a banging way to introduce him on WWE's main roster, but then thoughts turned to poor Chad Gable. He was living the high life by pulling double duty as both himself and the offshoot El Grande Americano character before being struck down by injury in late-June.

Since then, Ludwig Kaiser has assumed the Americano gimmick. He's merely keeping it warm for Gable's return. Once Chad does launch a comeback, it'd take a brave person to cast him as a heel. WWE fans are gonna be real chuffed to see the American Made leader do his thing again, and hopes will be high that he'll enter some more strong performances as El Grande too.

This is a tricky one, because Dominik Mysterio is on the cusp of a breakout babyface run himself. The clearly unlikeable characteristics he shows off on TV are vintage Eddie Guerero, and we all know how endearing 'Latino Heat' became to wrestling fans across the globe. 'Dirty Dom' can do for Mysterio what lying, cheating and stealing did for Eddie.

So, how do WWE transition the Intercontinental Title from one babyface to another? Simple. They don't turn Dom just yet. Let that slow build and slow build and...you get the point. Then, pull the trigger and watch him fly after he drops the title to Gable. Pause to think of the matches Chad could have with literally everyone as Intercontinental Champ.

It'd be a hoot if Kaiser donned the Americano outfit to challenge him too.

Admittedly, all of this is a while away due to Gable's injuries, but creative shouldn't be in any great rush to take the IC from Mysterio anyway. He's one of the most over stars on the roster.
