Champion: Ethan Page

Who Should Beat Him: JC Mateo

Right, so some reading will absolutely hate this, but it's part of a grander plan for Solo Sikoa's MFTs across the entire WWE product. Recent performances from one Jeff Cobb, who's called JC Mateo these days, have also been a vast improvement on his early struggles in the company. Specifically, teaming with newcomer Talla Tonga looks like it'll be a blessing in disguise for him.

That doesn't mean our JC should shy away from bagging some singles success of his own too. Again, this would go hand in hand with current NXT North American Champion and former AEW man Ethan Page heading up to dance in the brighter lights of Raw and/or SmackDown. 'All Ego' excelled when he made a cameo appearance on the blue brand a few months back (the 30 May episode, to be precise!), and Triple H was surely impressed by the man's poise behind the commentary desk.

Page did himself some huge favours by looking every bit the WWE superstar from head to toe. He's well-spoken, is accomplished in-ring, and looks the part - what's not to like here? Tony Khan must be kicking himself that he didn't make more of Ethan when he had the chance.

Back to Solo and gang. He can reason that the MFTs need to prove something to him by dominating NXT like he once did. He kinda didn't, but this is a delusional and arrogant heel we're talking about. Sikoa is all bluster and bluff, so of course he'd think that he was the main man in developmental before JC and Talla came onto the scene.

The bonus ball is that Mateo would get some shine and be able to work some lengthier matches away from SmackDown too.
