Every Major WWE Black Wednesday Release Ranked From Least To Most Successful

12. Heath Slater

Kenny Omega Good Brothers
IMPACT Wrestling

Of last April's releases, Heath Slater absolutely should be higher on this list than he actually is. The only thing holding him back is the fact he suffered a serious injury in October, and has been sidelined ever since.

First cropping up at IMPACT Wrestling's Slammiversary pay-per-view last July, the once 'Hottest Free Agent' found himself once again on the same path he travelled in WWE; without a contract. Fair dos to IMPACT, as out of context, they delivered the story to great success (those #Heath4IMPACT campaign videos were phenomenal in all the wrong ways), but this was a blatant copy and paste job of a former WWE story arc. Not good.

He had some good matches in IMPACT, namely against Moose for the TNA World Heavyweight Championship, but that's about as far as he got. Heath did actually earn that IMPACT contract following Rhino's Call Your Shot Gauntlet victory at Bound For Glory, a contract he's still yet to sign.

Having been sat on the injured shelf since that night, the former SmackDown Tag Team Champion recently had major surgery. A return could easily slot into IMPACT's plans further into the year; whether or not he joins Rhino in Violent By Design remains to be seen.
