Every NJPW G1 Climax 28 Entrant Ranked From Least To Most Likely To Win

1. Kota Ibushi

Kenny Omega vs. Kota Ibushi is the most intriguing match of the entire tournament.

It's a bout both men have been saving for years, and it'll finally go down in block B. In all likelihood, they'll work a clean, respectful match, full of exploratory exchanges, but ultimately ending with handshakes and congratulations. There's no way they empty the tank this early, because this is a bout worthy of headlining any major NJPW event, particularly after all that's happened in 2018, from the Golden Lovers' reunion to the Golden Elite's formation, via the Bullet Club civil war.

Ibushi's importance to the core New Japan narrative makes him a hot favourite. He's at the heart of wrestling's most progressive storyline, and may finally be on the cusp of breaking through as a true main eventer. A bigger, bolder match with Omega would set the Tokyo Dome alight on January 4th, so expect big things from the 'Golden Star' this summer.
