Every NJPW G1 Climax Entrant Ranked From Least To Most Likely To Win

17. Tama Tonga

Tama Tonga had a decent outing in G1 Climax 26, besting The Ace Hiroshi Tanahashi and his BC brethren Fale in a fun closing match. More importantly, he built a platform for himself as a singles competitor, having been so rigidly booked in tag team affairs.

That said, his role in NJPW is well and truly set in stone. He is too far down the pecking order in his stable, and in the company as a whole, to make it to the finals. Guerillas of Destiny have also become a much more refined act, meaning Tama Tonga's true value remains in the tag division.
