As said previously in this article many times, original is often the best, and that is certainly the case with the Gargano Vs. Ciampa saga. While they continued to build their feud over time and increase the level of violence with every match, it's their very first Takeover encounter that set the tone for them all laid the perfect foundation for them to build upon. It was the culmination of a years-long story that led to this point.

If Gargano lost, he was gone and Ciampa would forever reign supreme over NXT with an iron fist. Despite these dramatic implications, you got the feeling that Gargano didn’t even care and rightly so, all he wanted to do was hurt his brother turned enemy.

Despite the Unsanctioned stipulation, the two didn’t even need weapons, all they needed was pure wrestling. It flowed perfectly, from the back-and-forth contest to the sickening sound of Ciampa’s back hitting the exposed concrete, to the final scene of Gargano wrenching back Ciampa’s neck with that symbolic crutch, everything was just superb.

If you appreciate a good wrestling story, you seriously need to go and revisit this one, you could certainly watch it ten times over and never get bored. DIY certainly know how to do it right.
