Question: how the heck do you get 5 stars out of a cage match, typically one of the most brutal match stipulations in history, and not use any blood? Simple: you use two of the best wrestlers of your generation, and you have an intense personal feud to fuel the fire.

Undoubtedly the best feud of 1994 was Bret Hart's sibling rivalry with brother Owen. For months, the two traded blows on the mic and in the ring, with Owen getting the upper hand in an upset victory over Bret to kick off WrestleMania X. Bret would have the last laugh, however, as he won the WWE Championship later that night.

The supposed blowoff to the feud came at SummerSlam 1994 inside a steel cage. Due to the content constraints of the time, Bret and Owen had to forego color in favor of good-old-fashioned emotion and storytelling. And boy, did they deliver. In one of the most personal matches in company history, Bret and Owen turned the act of being the first to escape a bright blue cage a half-hour war. The two brothers gave each other everything they had, but Bret managed to escape by the skin of his teeth.

A great chapter in an amazing feud.
