Every WWE Clash Of Champions Match Ranked From Worst To Best
12. Kofi Kingston Vs. Randy Orton (2019)
Randy Orton and Kofi Kingston's WWE title feud was the most natural story that WWE had to offer in 2019. Orton is widely viewed as the reason why Kingston's substantial push ended back in 2009, and since Kofi had made it to the level of world champion, it felt essential that he tackle a demon from his past before his reign came to a conclusion. Their match at SummerSlam had a disappointing non finish, but it seemed to be leading somewhere at Clash of Champions.
This match gets everything right in its final moments, getting that particular aura of a feud 10 years in the making perfectly as it approaches its finish. It gets the perfect feeling that the best Randy Orton matches achieve, the slow methodical nature transitioning into something substantial, leading into a moment of tension and eventual catharsis that shows us why we love wrestling.
It's truly unfortunate that everything leading up to it was one of Orton's weakest performances in recent memory, dominating over Kofi with glacial offence and utter boredom. It was a sluggish affair for the most part, that suddenly turned into something transcendent. Instead of being an all time classic, it just has a moment that will last forever.
