Every WWE Clash Of Champions Match Ranked From Worst To Best
10. Kevin Owens & Sami Zayn Vs. Shinsuke Nakamura & Randy Orton (2017)
The Kevin Owens/Sami Zayn narrative might have been absolutely infuriating, especially considering that Shane McMahon was the world's most evil babyface at the time, but how it developed every week was the major angle of SmackDown for several months. While other aspects of the show felt completely underdeveloped or creatively unsatisfying, this feud was something to latch onto, even as it angered the fans desperate to cheer on Owens and Zayn.
The long term story genuinely led to investment in this tag match, which despite the two referees, was able to fulfill a well worked and compelling contest in the semi main event. Zayn and Owens have electric chemistry as a tag team, and both Orton and Nakamura put in more effort than might have been expected from them.
When Shane got directly involved, it was captivating stuff. The disputes between him and Bryan came close to interrogating the morality of these characters in a way that’s uncommon in the modern era.
It’s far from a match that’s essential, particularly as the months of storytelling got thrown away due to the euphoric in ring return of Daniel Bryan, but was a good second act that has enough to offer to be worthwhile.
