Every WWE Clash Of Champions Match Ranked From Worst To Best
7. Roman Reigns Vs. Rusev (2016)
Roman Reigns and Rusev would achieve greatness together in their underrated Hell in a Cell match, but their work here is still extremely solid.
The feud going in unfortunately leaned hard into some of the worst WWE tropes for babyfaces. The sabotaged wedding of Rusev and Lana by The Big Dog just made the top babyface star Roman Reigns look like a cruel sadistic villain, and didn’t inspire fans to cheer his babyface pursuit for the US title. But thankfully, the match made up for it with the two big men battering each other and working an incredibly entertaining endurance test.
The final few minutes could have been executed better in terms of narrative, Lana’s interference was sloppy just like it was in the recent Bobby Lashley/Drew McIntyre match, but Roman's final spear is one of the best he ever hit, and led into a solid US title reign.
Roman and Rusev had really great chemistry and pairing them together led to great results when they were just allowed to do their thing inside the squared circle. A good match that would lead to even better.
