Every WWE Extreme Rules Main Event Ranked Worst To Best
10. Dolph Ziggler Vs. Seth Rollins (2018)
Time to state an obvious fact, substantiated by the giant clock displayed on the titantron and the continuous countdown chants from the crowd: Iron Man matches are all about timing.
WWE chose to give the Intercontinental Championship main event status for one night, which was pretty sweet. This match however was disappointing, because the promise on paper was extremely high. Everybody knew that both Ziggler and Rollins, being the card carrying showmen that they were, had the potential to put on an intensive sweat-strewn exertion for the ages.
Instead, the match limped for about 25 minutes and picked up into a frantic struggle for the all important deciding point in the last five. Its consistent plodding warranted a sense of fatigue for the spectator that could not be rescued. In a 30 minute bout, it felt like 80% of that time was wasted.
Kurt Angle’s cameo stipulation at the end added, well... nothing. One distraction from Drew McIntyre and Dolph scored the victory all the same. The entire match could have been so much more.
