Every WWE Gimmick Match And The Wrestlers That Defined Them

23. WarGames - Adam Cole

The Undertaker HIAC

The foil in the mesh, Adam Cole is the perfect character to maintain crowd heat throughout an epic that has approached the 90 minute mark in just two iterations since its NXT debut.

In the first, he played slimy, cerebral escapologist to smug perfection by somehow withstanding and avoiding Killian Dain's omni-destruction in the best of the two matches. A year later, he could not evade the warp speed aerial game of Ricochet, who managed to enhance his aura in spite of a grinding run-time.

Cole, in the first match, manoeuvred himself out of the hardway bloodbath and the crazed assortment of weapons to ascend to the top turnbuckle and orchestrate a deafening BAY-BAY chant - an iconic fusion of the brutal old-school premise and the cinematic sensibilities of NXT's outstanding production.
