Every WWE Release Of 2021 - Where Are They Now? (Five Years Later)
74. Tucker
Then: "Tucky" turned heel on his Heavy Machinery partner Otis at Hell In A Cell 2020. In turn (literally), Tucker handed the Money In The Bank briefcase to The Miz and brought the curtain down on his pal's main event aspirations. That was really the last thing of note that Tucker did in WWE. Well, unless you count winning the 24/7 Title or working as part of an Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal as major.
Management cut him loose in April 2021, and that was that.
Now: Tucker went from WWE to the independent circuit, but not instantly. In fact, he didn't wrestle at all between his April 2021 release and a match for Prestige in February 2022. Just 12 bouts later, he was calling it a career and announcing his retirement from active wrestling.
Had the WWE release hit Tucker hard, or was he thinking about winding things down whilst still under contract? That's a question only he can answer, but it must've been truly disheartening that his big heel turn on Otis didn't go anywhere in the end. It was a complete waste of everybody's time, which is a pity.
The former WWE star has since slipped into a teaching role. He's a wrestling coach at high school. Hopefully, he's happy doing what he's doing and spending more time with his family, but the one time tag hopeful will surely wonder what might've been had WWE's writers been more on the ball with his turn.
He'll probs never get the chance to put things right.
