Every WWE Release Of 2021 - Where Are They Now? (Five Years Later)
37. Asher Hale
Then: Anthony Henry's (his slightly better-known name) biggest and best moment as a WWE star came when he beat Tony Nese on the 28 May 2021 episode of 205 Live. Bonus points go to any readers who recall that one. You can cash in your points at the nearest 205 Live superstore near you.
Seriously though, WWE life was short and largely unsatisfying for the then-Asher Hale. He signed on the dotted line in January and was gone by August. Yep, just like that.
Now: Henry made his AEW debut on the 5 October 2021 Dark in a losing effort to Eddie Kingston. From there, he formed a tag-team called The WorkHorsemen with JD Drake that got a few look ins on bigger shows like Dynamite and Collision, but they had a ceiling.
The WorkHorsemen weren't going to be booked as strongly as other teams in the company like The Young Bucks or FTR, put it that way. By 2024, Tony Khan had released Anthony from his deal, but revealed that he'd hire him back as soon as Henry recovered from a grisly broken ankle injury.
That proved to be the case, but Ant has been more of an ROH regular than core AEW since returning to the fold. He's still pushing that tag with Drake too. Good on them for repeatedly bashing away. Here's hoping they're still having fun out there during matches despite Collision seemingly being as good as it's ever going to get for the pair.
