Every WWE Release Of 2021 - Where Are They Now? (Five Years Later)

81. Steve Cutler

Then: Steve Cutler had 2 of the most unfortunate experiences anyone could have on WWE's main roster after being called up in April 2020. Firstly, his Forgotten Sons stablemate Jaxson Ryker irked everyone with some posts on social media about politics and what was happening away from wrestling. It was ill-advised, to say the least.

Creatively, Cutler went from the frying pan to the fire when he and tag partner Wesley Blake were put alongside King Corbin as 'The Knights Of The Lone Wolf'. That made the duo sounds like a faction from Skyrim or Elden Ring, but they must've been hoping for a reprieve after all of Ryker's backstage drama.

It didn't come. Cutler found himself on the outs and was released from his contract on 4 February 2021.

Now: You'd be forgiven for thinking that was the last you'd hear about Stevie boy unless he was able to claw his way back into WWE's good graces under Triple H. Instead, something remarkable happened: Cutler redoubled his efforts, by rebranding as Steve Maclin in IMPACT/TNA, and he went on to become World Champion for a spell.

Away from the ring, Steve also married Deonna Purrazzo. So, his professional and private life took a surge, and everything looks rosy for the man. Good for him. Maclin is still with TNA today, but he's been able to do some work on the independent circuit in between bookings.

Steve and Deonna do extensive charity work too, so they're using their respective platforms in TNA and AEW/ROH for a good cause.
