Every WWE Smackdown Intro Ranked – From Worst To Best

7. 2005

Bringing down the curtain on our quartet of Drowning Pool intros is the original article itself; the 2005 intro that featured the song for the very first time.

For me, what makes this one stand out from the rest is that unlike the previous examples, this time the intro begins with that mellow guitar melody right from the get-go. Other renditions had very brief clips of audio taped onto the beginning which kind of detracted from the song itself.

Beginning in this way, with that delicate guitar riff, only makes that eruption of the chorus all the more emphatic when it eventually does kick in. It’s only a very minor variation on subsequent versions, but for me it makes all the difference.

Admittedly the video package could be improved upon, particularly those clips that are superimposed onto the SmackDown logos, but I think we can overlook that minor details since this version of the song makes up for it.
