On paper, this could have been a really fun episode of SmackDown. As the show moved to the Syfy network a stacked card was booked, featuring John Cena vs. Kane in a lumberjack main event, The Undertaker vs. CM Punk, an Intercontinental Championship match between Dolph Ziggler and MVP, Randy Orton vs. Cody Rhodes and much more.

All of this sounds good, right? Well, the problem was that WWE seemingly planned way too much and as a result everything on the card came off as being incredibly rushed. Taker defeated Punk in less than five minutes, with Punk being portrayed as a total loser in the process. Orton and Cody didn't even get that much respect, with less than three minutes passing from bell to bell.

The evening was also full of Nexus interruptions, including one in the opening IC title match barely two minutes into it. The crowd were into it at this point, but the rushed nature of everything throughout the show led to this being a total disappointment. The Nexus overload continued as they squashed Big Show in a five-on-one handicap match.

If you're wondering. Cena vs. Kane ended in a No Contest after Nexus got involved.

At least the show had the Swagger Soaring Eagle.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
