The first ever TLC match in WWE, of course this takes the top spot. The three teams involved had solidified their positions in the upper echelons of WWE, but this was arguably the match that pushed them over the top. These three teams in this type of match was a picture of everything that was great about the Attitude Era.

From start to finish the pace is frenetic, and no man is spared when it comes to insanity and bumping. Matt Hardy takes a ladder flush in the face a la Joey Mercury, and Jeff turns up with his usual bag of tricks (and by 'bag of tricks' I mean 'different ways of falling off high things'). His night is pretty much done when he misses Bubba following a Swanton from the top of a ladder, giving us a most iconic visual in the process.

As bodies are strewn everywhere (including Lita, who took a huge Spear from Edge) Jeff (somehow) and D-Von find themselves swinging from the belts, only for those pesky Canadians to swoop in and claim the titles like the vultures they were.

This is one of the best matches in SummerSlam history, let alone one of the best triple threats. To ram home how ridiculous the Attitude Era was, however, it was followed by a 'Thong Stinkface' match between Terri Runnels and The Kat, which may very well be the worst match in SummerSlam history.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
