Every WWE WrestleMania Rematch Ranked From Worst To Best
8. Triple H vs. Batista - WrestleMania 35
The most prolonged rematch on the list, this match was 14 years in the making. It would've happened a lot sooner had Big Dave's Hollywood career floundered, but with this match, it was more a case of better late than never.
Their first bout at WrestleMania 21 was the payoff of one of the best face turns of the 2000s, with Batista breaking away from Evolution and going on to battle his mentor for the World Heavyweight Championship following Royal Rumble victory. With less emphasis on mat wrestling and more on big power moves, capturing the gold made Batista the torchbearer for the Ruthless Aggression Era alongside John Cena.
After Batista left WWE to conquer the silver screen, he returned in 2014 to a chorus of boos, but came back one more time in 2019 to take on Triple H at WrestleMania 35. Once again involving Evolution mentors, Batista attacked Ric Flair to goad Trips into a no holds barred match.
The carnage was spectacular as the two old rivals battled with weapons in ways not seen in WWE before, including Hunter ripping out Batista's nose ring with pliers. It's not as important as their first encounter but served as a fitting end, as Dave officially retired from wrestling shortly after falling to the Game.
