EVERYTHING Vince McMahon Gave Up On In 2020 (So Far)
6. A Purge Begins
April 15th was a dark day for wrestling as WWE let a number of performers go in order to save some money during the coming weeks and month that they will be losing out on ticket sales from shows. Before the cuts, Vince addressed the staff with the following conference call:-
"Given the uncertainty we are facing today, unfortunately we have to temporarily reduce head count. As such, a number of WWE employees will be furloughed from the company today. At the close of my remarks, employees will receive a communication detailing their individual situations. More specifically, those impacted by the furloughs will receive a text message from Human Resources with specific information for their next steps. These are not easy decisions, but reflect the reality of the environment we're working in today."
So far, those let go by text message include Erick Rowan, Sarah Logan (who risked her own health to appear on RAW that very week), Zack Ryder, Eric Young, Heath Slater (he's got kids!), Primo & Epico Colon, Kurt Hawkins, and No Way Jose.
While many went to bat for Logan, she has since retired from professional wrestling.
