Chris Hero has landed himself a full-time gig as a producer for AEW.

Hero had previously been working in such a capacity on a trial basis, and Mike Johnson over at PWInsider.com now reports that this trial has been turned into a permanent arrangement. Johnson notes how the former Kassius Ohno has received "high marks" from sources PWInsider has spoken to.

This news comes hot on the heels of Scott Garland, aka Scotty 2 Hotty, commencing a similar tryout with with AEW on last night's Dynamite. The one-time WWE Light Heavyweight Champion will serve as a "coach/producer" for the next several weeks before a decision is made on whether to bring the famed Too Cool man in on a full-time basis.

To go back to Chris Hero, last month saw the 43-year-old state how he very much is not retired from in-ring competition, despite having not wrestled since the 2 April 2020 episode of NXT UK.

Of course, with Hero now officially #AllElite, there's plentiful potential match-ups on the table should the veteran decide he wants to lace up his boots in addition to working as a producer. After all, Hero has significant history with the likes of Claudio Castagnoli, Samoa Joe, CM Punk, and Christopher Daniels - with Hero also recently detailing how, in particular, he'd love to once again tangle with the American Dragon.

Added to this, earlier this month Tony Khan took to Twitter to say how he's "chipping away" at getting Chris Hero to wrestle for AEW...

For now, Hero's role is that of a producer, but it would seem silly for anyone to count out the possibility of one half of the Kings of Wrestling having a match or two for Khan's promotion.
