1. The Winner

As of 2012, the G1 Climax winner not only takes home the storied G1 Trophy, but also books himself a title shot for the following Wrestle Kingdom. Therefore, the honour bestowed upon the G1 winner has reached even loftier heights as of late. Not only does the company crown that year's most resilient warrior, but also entrusts them with headlining their biggest yearly show in the Tokyo Dome. NJPW rarely risks this on an up-and-comer.

Therefore, a WWE G1 winner would need to be someone whose role within the company is entrenched at the top, making Seth Rollins a perfect option. WWE invested in him hugely, choosing to make him the breakout heel from The Shield. Since then he has gone on to win Money in the Bank and cash himself into the WrestleMania main event, thieving the WWE Championship in the process.

The Wrestle Kingdom contract likens the G1 to the Royal Rumble or MITB. But as opposed to winning a gimmick match that is ripe for overbooking, the G1 winner needs to prove in ten straight singles matches that they are the best in the company. Quite simply, it cannot be won by fluke. There are plenty of guys in WWE who could step up to the plate, but Rollins is in prime position to win a WWE G1.
