She didn't make the show, but she's now on her way to developmental.

WWE has found their newest signing in the 6-foot-1, 24 year old Victoria Gonzalez, who tried out for Tough Enough, but did not end up making the show.

Gonzalez is a Texas native, whose father, Rick Gonzalez, is a longtime independent wrestler. She was a star high school basketball player, but did not start training to become a professional wrestler until after graduation, which was the deal her father made with her.

While WWE liked enough of what they saw in Victoria's audition video to bring her in for a tryout in May, she was not signed to a deal until now. That works out well for her, as her dad had given her a three year deadline to make WWE or get out of the business. She only needed a fraction of that time before she was signed.

Hopefully Victoria can find her way onto the NXT roster quick, as their women's division is a shell of what it once was. Asuka is largely carrying the division by herself, as the younger talents are still looking to establish themselves.

With the way Victoria accelerated through the independent scene, it may not be too long before we do see her in action.

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
