Former WWE Tag Team Champion Out With Injury

This WWE superstar hasn't been in action for nearly a month.

During the Last Chance Battle Royal on Raw last week, nearly every woman on the main roster competed for the final slot in the women's Elimination Chamber match. Several tag teams were fully represented, but Chelsea Green was in there alone, without her backup, Piper Niven. Now, we know why Chelsea was flying solo.

Fightful Select reports that Niven sustained a hand injury in the past month and hasn't been around lately. Internally, the fear was that she had a broken hand.

The former WWE Women's Tag Team Champion's last match came three weeks ago for a Main Event taping alongside Chelsea in a loss to Natalya and Tegan Nox. Piper competed in the Royal Rumble and on Raw the following Monday, losing a tag match to Shayna Baszler and Zoey Stark.

Piper's ride on the main roster has been uneven at best. Debuting in summer 2021 as Eva Marie's "protégé" -- and rechristened Doudrop -- Niven finished runner-up in the Queen's Crown tournament to Zelina Vega. That was the high point until she literally grabbed one-half of the Women's Tag Team Championship in August after Sonya Deville went down with an injury.

Green and Niven held the tag titles until December, when they lost the straps to Kayden Carter and Katana Chance.

Here's wishing Piper the best for a speedy recovery.
