Goldberg's WWE Return Imminent?

The Streak starts again.

WWE and Goldberg have been in talks lately, and in an interesting turn of events, he's been announced to appear on Sports Center this week with The Coach.

Apparently there's more to the story, as Dave Meltzer has reported that the two sides are in "very serious talks" and a deal may have already been reached.

A couple of years ago, this seemed like quite the impossible move. But apparently the 2K video game series is the way to gain entry into WWE, as we've seen with Warrior and Sting in the past. Despite Goldberg not competing since WrestleMania XX, fans were loudly cheering for him at the end of Brock Lesnar vs. Randy Orton at SummerSlam. It appears that Vince McMahon and Triple H were listening.

The money match is obviously Goldberg against Lesnar, but perhaps he'll stick around for a few more matches. With Raw ratings hitting scary levels lately, and the company wanting to sell out Royal Rumble in January, they're going to need to make some big moves to get fans excited again.

The two superstars battling at the Rumble itself would certainly be a match that would create a ton of interest, and perhaps bring back some lapsed fans for the night.

We should find out soon whether Da Man and WWE really can work things out.

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
