Hall Of Famer DOESN'T Like The Rock's WWE Heel Turn
The Rock's heel turn caught everyone by surprise, but this WWE legend isn't a fan.
Eric Bischoff has admitted that this initial reaction to The Rock's WWE heel turn was simple: "Ew". The company Hall Of Famer questioned why Dwayne Johnson needed to go rogue on his 'Strictly Business' podcast, but he's willing to see how things play out.
The Bisch wasn't sold on it though, and revealed he's "having a hard time" understanding why The Rock is heel in 2024. Given Johnson's vast popularity in the entertainment industry, that's fair, but many agree Rocky going heel was the right call due to Cody Rhodes own involvement in the story.
WWE seemingly replacing Cody with Rock vs. Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 40 was met with significant backlash from fans before the promotion pivoted during a press event in Las Vegas. Eric isn't convinced by any of this, but noted it's important to "definitely give [Rocky] the benefit of the doubt and see what happens next.
Bischoff has never been shy to shoot down storylines or angles he considers illogical via his podcasts. The ex-WCW boss and WWE GM has been very outspoken about Tony Khan and AEW in the past, for example.
