How AEW Will Crown Their First Women's Champion

All Elite Wrestling's World Women's Championship plans revealed.

Riho Hiksru Shida
AEW

The winner of AEW All Out's Riho vs. Hikaru Shida will face whoever triumphs in the Buy In pre-show's Casino Battle Royale to crown the promotion's first Women's World Champion.

This is according to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer. AEW are still expected to hold the title fight on their TNT debut episode on 2 October, with whoever wins the belt already booked to defend it on television two weeks later.

Nyla Rose, Britt Baker, Allie, Brandi Rhodes, Teal Piper, Ivelisse, Jazz, Big Swole, Sadie Gibbs, and Awesome Kong have already been confirmed for the Casino Battle Royale, leaving AEW with 10 spots to fill ahead of the 31 August event.

Conspicuous by her absence is Kylie Rae. A standout at Double Or Nothing back in May, she hasn't wrestled an independent match since 14 June and recently deleted her social media accounts. Neither AEW nor Rae herself has clarified her status.

Regardless, All Out brings up all kinds of potentially exciting booking possibilities for 2 October and it's great to see the joshi wrestlers getting another big pay-per-view spotlight. Here's hoping AEW come up with a compelling title fight.
