Slam Wrestling is reporting on comments CM Punk recently made when accepting an award via the Cauliflower Alley Club.

At the event, Punk fired back at fans online who criticise him. The suspended AEW star, who was involved in more behind-the-scenes drama over in London before All In went live, said he "just chuckles" whenever "people tell me they don’t like me or that the internet is mad at me".

Why? Well, Punk pointed out that he received guidance, support and kind words from pro wrestling icons like Roddy Piper, Dusty Rhodes and Harley Race during the earliest years of his in-ring career. That meant the world to him, and "gave me the confidence and it gave me the ability to succeed in a place where I didn’t think I’d ever fit in".

So, the amount of hate pouring in from some sections of the wrestling fan community on services like Twitter/X doesn't really bother Punk all that much. Of course, that doesn't mean such comments will stop. In fact, after reading this, some might be prompted to rant some more!

Most of his 45-minute speech was positive, but Punk couldn't resist taking aim at his critics.
