How THIS Wrestler Has Become WWE's Most Valuable Player In 2020

Apollo Crews MVP

Six months ago, Apollo Crews was gathering dust on a shelf somewhere in Stamford. WWE wasn't using him beyond the odd SmackDown dark match or enhancement spot, having failed to find any way to elevate the dazzling hyper-athlete since his split from Titus Worldwide, an undercard group. Before Titus, a limp Sheamus feud and blink-and-you'll-miss-it run at The Miz's Intercontinental Championship was all he had on his main roster resume.

Now, Apollo is a player. That this has happened through feuding with MVP is no coincidence.

Discrediting Crews isn't the goal here, as he's a highlight-reel performer pulsing with energy and enthusiasm, whose supposed charisma shortage is anywhere near as deep as many would have you believe. Better material and stronger support from the writers' room after transitioning from NXT would have seen him hit this spot a long time ago. Still, MVP has helped lift the former Uhaa Nation up. Exemplary microphone and character work in pushing and promoting their United States Championship feud saw MVP fame Crews as a man worth beating, and let's not forget that MVP was the loser here. Crews went 2-0 in their title matches.

Apollo now finds himself aligned with Ricochet in a feud with the best stable in the company, The Hurt Business.

And speaking of lifting people up...
