How WWE Should Debut The Elite

Elite AEW WWE
AEW/WWE

As reported by Fightful Select, Omega, Page and the Bucks are said to be still in negotiations about their futures within All Elite Wrestling, and what might have been ludicrous to even pitch just four years ago has now become a possibility that will alarm and excite the wrestling fanbase in equal measure.

There are those that believe All Elite Wrestling simply cannot be the company it is/was without the quartet, their never-ending saga and the high quality bar their matches promise. Kenny Omega remains one of - if not the - very best wrestler in the world, or certainly capable of producing the very best matches. The Young Bucks share the same traits and are often responsible for AEW feels like it even has a tag division or not. Their move to working trios matches in late-2022 coincided with the doubles division looking more barren than ever. Hangman Page is yet another mid-to-upper card star that promises insane quality bell-to-bell, and has often been described as the "main character" of the organisation - the man for which everything rotates around even when the notion is covert.

But there are growing arguments that counter the above ones that work quite nicely for WWE fans and/or those curious as to exactly what all of this might look like.

Kenny Omega spent years being fantasy booked into Royal Rumbles every time his NJPW contract came due. The Devil's Sky's the limit for 'The Best Bout Machine', especially if he can prove his artistry by working around WWE's restrictions to make a new kind of magic. Hangman Page has a lot of what Triple H loves - credentials, darling status, good hair, the ability to kick *ss for an hour and not look winded. He's a WWE Champion material if he hides how affable he is. Meanwhile, Matt and Nick re-legitimised tag team wrestling as a vital component on the mainstream stage, but WWE got it into the main event of WrestleMania and several other premium live events in 2023 too. This had to sting a little bit. And "Usos better" has become the new "F*ck The Revival" in Young Bucks fan-cast dream match circles anyway.

You got to give the people what they want, right?
