Finn Balor will challenge NXT Champion Adam Cole on next Wednesday's show, having defeated Tommaso Ciampa and Keith Lee in a thrilling number one contender's Triple Threat last night.

The awesome encounter concluded with Lee hitting his Spirit Bomb finisher on Ciampa, doing the hard work for Balor, who came in, nailed the Coup de Grace, and took the victory. Him and the Undisputed Leader then stared each other down to close the show.

Cole vs. Balor joins NXT Women's Champion Shayna Baszler vs. Rhea Ripley on what looks like a TakeOver-calibre 18 December show.

Last night's NXT also brought a new Cruiserweight Champion, as Angel Garza felled Lio Rush in another breathtaking encounter between the two, foiling 'The Man of the Hour' after hitting his Wing Clipper finisher for a two-count, before twisting it into a submission for the victory. Afterwards, Garza got back into the ring to propose to his girlfriend, who fortunately said less.

More worryingly, it looks like newly-minted heel Dakota Kai may have been injured in her match with Mia Yim:-

It's unlikely that we'll hear more on Kai's condition until the aforementioned Injury Report video hits the internet. Let's just hope it isn't too bad.
