WWE reached beyond their full-time main roster talent pool to recruit three squash matches victims last night, recruiting wrestlers from NXT and the pseudo-developmental EVOLVE group to fill the Raw card at this difficult time.

The first two ringers were Shane Thorne and Brendan Vink from the black-and-gold brand. Thorne is comfortably the most well-known of the two, as he is a former Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic finalist as one half of TM61, with him and Nick Miller losing to The Authors of Pain at TakeOver: Toronto. Thorne has struggled since Miller left WWE in December 2018, however. His last televised NXT appearance was back in November.

Vink, meanwhile, is yet to debut in NXT, though he has been a regular fixture in EVOLVE lately.

Speaking of EVOLVE, Gabe Sapolsky's promotion provided Aleister Black's latest victim last night. Leon Ruff stepped up to the plate, playing up his fear of facing the Dutchman, who put him away with a Black Mass in about a minute. Ruff is a former EVOLVE Tag Team Champion and considered one of the group's most promising young wrestlers, having previously wrestled Black on last week's WWE Main Event.
