Impact Wrestling Scores Ratings Boost After Slammiversary
A great pay-per-view paid off with a colossal viewership increase for Impact.
The buzz of Impact Wrestling's successful Slammiversary pay-per-view paid off in the form of a viewership boost for the promotion last week, with the group's weekly show post significant increases before and after the 18 July event.
PWTorch have published a report featuring Impact's figures from the past three weeks. Viewership leapt from 135,000 on 7 July to 156,000 for the 14 July Slammiversary go-home show, then again to 163,000 for the fallout episode on 21 July. Both are above the show's average weekly viewership of 145,000 since 24 March.
This are the first Impact Wrestling numbers to emerge since March. The promotion's network, AXS TV, doesn't typically publish these numbers, though it's believed that Nielsen has been tracking the channel since December 2019.
Impact's 21 July episode drew a 0.05 rating in the key 18-49 demographic. For comparison's sake, NXT drew 0.17 last week and AEW got 0.32.
Slammiversary's hype and the buzz of new signings like EC3, the Good Brothers, Eric Young, and Heath Slater has put Impact on an upswing for what feels like the first time in years. It'll be interesting to see how these numbers trend going forward, if they are released at all.
