IMPACT Wrestling Slammiversary 2021: 10 Things That Must Happen

7. Alex Shelley Returns

The debuts and/or returns at Slammiversary shouldn't just surround those WWE Black Thursday releases. Instead, Alex Shelley should also make a comeback, appearing either during or after Moose faces his Motor City Machine Guns partner, Chris Sabin.

Shelley, bless the man, has been sitting out since January, stalling his then-return from injury until he's been fully vaccinated. Working as a physical therapy clinician outside of the ring, there's little you can say to create a convincing argument against the former X Division Champion. Fair play.

Assuming he's had the required doses, Slammiversary seems a natural fit for Alex's return. It was Moose who replaced him in that Hard To Kill main event against Kenny Omega and the Good Brothers, remember. Even then, it was also Moose who put Sabin on the injured list for a few weeks, targeting his surgically repaired knee at Under Siege.

Like the knockouts doubles division, the men's tag division could also do with having the Guns back in the mix. There's only so much times you can put Doc Gallows and Karl Anderson in a title match before it becomes tiresome, for lack of a better term. Put them against Shelley and Sabin, though, and they'll create magic. It's one of the few 'dream' matches IMPACT are yet to promote with their current roster.
