IMPACT Wrestling Slammiversary 2021: Every Match Ranked From Worst To Best

6. Matt Cardona & Chelsea Green Vs. Brian Myers & Tenille Dashwood

Result: Chelsea Green brought back her I'm Prettier finish as Tenille Dashwood took the pin (6:05).

Rating: The first surprise of the night needed to be a major one, and boy, did Chelsea Green not let down. Wrestling her first IMPACT match since January 2018, 'The Hot Mess' looked like a major star here, completely eliminating the typical tropes of mixed tag team matches being a tad dull. The lack of men-on-women action didn't detract from this, as each gender had their own story to tell.

Because the bout flowed ever so seamlessly, the match only lasting six minutes never felt like six minutes. It was a breeze that delivered excellently. Subtly overshadowing the Cardona vs. Myers rivalry, Chelsea and Tenille's interactions felt fresh; the former's Canadian Destroyer was a mesmerising take on the manoeuvre.

A minor gripe with Green getting the pin over Dashwood here, given they weren't the main stars of the match, however, this acted as a tremendous way of bringing the former Laurel Van Ness back into the fold at IMPACT.

Your opinion of this will likely depend on how you perceive mixed tag team matches as a whole, but for what it set out to achieve, this worked well. 5.5/10
