Is CM Punk Returning At WrestleMania 36?

Update on Punk's current 'Mania status.

CM Punk
WWE

Despite just this week discussing which handful of wrestlers he’d come out of retirement to face, any rumours of CM Punk returning to in-ring competition are said to be completely false at this point in time.

Courtesy of the PWInsider, recent scuttlebutt of doing Punk vs. Seth Rollins at WrestleMania 36 is pure fabrication. In fact, PWI goes as far as to say that there has been absolutely no communication between WWE and the Straight-Edge Superstar over the multiple-time World Champion making a return to the squared circle.

This latest report also adds that any sort of CM Punk WrestleMania appearance hasn’t been talked about, period – even if that was in a non-physical capacity.

Despite drawing big numbers for WWE Backstage during his fleeting appearances on that FS1 show, Punk has barely been mentioned on WWE TV in recent months. And for those keeping track, those scarce Backstage appearances have not even been promoted lately by WWE.

From the outside looking in, it doesn’t seem as if any major bridges have been mended between WWE officials and the Second City Saint. And Punk taking to Twitter to mock WWE and its superstars likely doesn’t sit all that well with WWE higher-ups.

Eagerly awaiting his in-ring return or happy to see him stay retired, it doesn’t appear that we’ll be getting a CM Punk wrestling return at any point soon.
