The fact that this match stole the show at WrestleMania 21 should be no surprise to anybody familiar with either of the competitors. Shawn Michaels and Kurt Angle are two of the greatest of all time, and their "past vs. present" clash in 2005 was an absolute masterclass.

Despite Angle playing the heel of the feud, it was the sort of bout that seems to transcend typical wrestling dynamics, and becomes more a showcase of two fantastic wrestlers doing what they do best.

There were too many exciting spots to name, but a few highlights include a brutal Angle Slam into the ringpost, a super variation from the top rope, and a gorgeous springboard splash onto the announce table. Kurt eventually picked up a highly-deserved victory, catching HBK in the Ankle Lock and forcing the veteran to finally surrender.

Hidden Highlight: HBK realising that the crowd are behind an Angle win, and subtly heeling it up in response. Wonderful improvisation - especially with a sneaky lowblow midway through the bout.
