Jay White is currently in talks with both WWE and AEW in regards to where he will land next.

As reported in the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter, 'Switchblade' has very much been discussing a potential move over to WWE with the Sports Entertainment giant, but still hasn't officially signed with the company. He's also reportedly talking with AEW at this current moment, too.

And far from simply humouring Tony Khan's promotion, on the back of it being initially reported that WWE were particularly confident about landing the one-time IWGP World Heavyweight Champion, a person close to the situation actually went as far as to describe it as "50/50" in regards to which company White will opt to sign with.

White has obviously already appeared on AEW programming just last year, with the one-time Bullet Club leader showing up on Dynamite and Rampage in the lead-up to an appearance at the Forbidden Door PPV; a night which saw him successfully defend his IWGP World Heavyweight Championship.

The former NJPW man lost both a Loser Leaves Japan and NJPW bout recently against Hikuleo and Eddie Kingston, respectively. And while it once looked like almost a certainty that White would be taking World Wrestling Entertainment by storm in the wake of that NJPW departure, it now appears that there could be a late twist in this particular free agency tale...
