Jim Johnston’s 20 Greatest WWE Creations

10. Shawn Michaels - Sexy Boy

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7w1mq6rAfMM The women screaming in delight at the beginning of this theme set the tone perfectly for what Shawn Michaels is supposed to be: the man that every woman loves. In collaboration with Jimmy Hart and J.J. Maguire, Sensational Sherri provided the backup vocals, singing the chorus while HBK told the audience what made him such a good wrestler. The whole €˜Boy toy€™ gimmick and entrance theme were interesting because it worked well for both Shawn as both a good guy and as a bad guy: women loved to cheer for him because of his looks, while guys didn€™t like him for those same looks, and thought a guy called €˜the Heartbreak kid€™ wasn€™t manly enough to be a top wrestler. Even after his return in 2002, HBK kept this theme more out of nostalgia and association than for gimmick purposes. He still kept the HBK name and often had hearts on his wrestling attire, so why bother giving him something new when Jim Johnston had already created something that worked perfectly?
