Pro wrestling autobiographies generally fall under one of two headings; Excellent or Why The Heck Did I Read That? Either way, there are a plethora of the things out there, with most of the biggest names in the history of the sport putting pen to paper (or finger to key) at some point to dish the dirt and tell their story in their own words.

Legendary announcer Jim Ross is the latest to move into the publishing world, and in his blog recently he announced that his own book is tentatively scheduled for a 2017 release.

Ross has been working with Irish writer Paul O'Brien on the book, who you may know from his trilogy titled 'Blood Red Turns Dollar Green', a bestseller in Mexico among other places.

In his post Ross states that a number of publishers were interested in his book until they realised it wouldn't be a 'salacious, low-brow tell all lined with dirt and embarrassing stories' piece of work. Ross' book promises to be full of stories and experiences from one of the most respected names in the history of the business, and as such is sure to be a vital read for any pro wrestling fan.

Roll on 2017.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
